Most hospice care is covered by the Medicare Hospice Benefit, Medi-Cal, and many private insurance plans. Coverage typically includes services, medications, supplies, and equipment related to the hospice diagnosis. Visits from the hospice team are included. Room and board in a facility are usually not covered by Medicare. Other programs may help in certain situations, and we can explain options.
Before care begins, we verify your benefits and review costs in plain language. There are no surprises. If you have questions about coverage, call (714)790-0594. We will review your plan and explain what hospice services in Orange County commonly include under Medicare.
Who qualifies for hospice care?
A person with a life-limiting illness whose doctor believes life expectancy may be six months or less if the illness follows its usual course. Eligibility is reassessed on a regular basis.
Can hospice be provided at home?
Yes. Most hospice care happens where you live. We bring care to homes and care settings across Los Angeles County so travel is limited and routines stay familiar
Can I keep my doctor?
Yes. You may keep your primary doctor. Our hospice medical director also helps guide your plan and supports your care team.
What if my loved one improves?
If the condition improves, a person can leave hospice and return later if needed. The goal is always the right level of care at the right time.
Does hospice give up on treatment?
Hospice shifts the focus from cure to comfort. We work to ease pain, manage symptoms, and support what matters most to you and your family.
How soon can services start?
Services can often begin quickly after eligibility is confirmed. Call us to discuss your needs, timing, and next steps.
What if we speak another language?
Interpreter services and printed materials in common languages used in Orange County can be arranged so your family understands each part of care.
What support is there for children or teens?
Our team offers age-appropriate grief resources and can connect families to community programs for young people.
We also serve additional communities throughout Los Angeles County, and we care for families in neighboring counties. Explore our county pages for Orange County and Riverside County.

Nat answered day and night with care, pain meds, anti nausea meds, equipment, etc. what ever we needed, she came through for us. My mom and I had a very close bond and Nat was sensitive and always responded and helped me care for mom with anything within her power to provide. I felt surrounded by angels. Social worker that came out, Darlene, so sweet and so very kind. I could not have done the care for mom without their help. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️Posted on Victor LeeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thank you so much to Orange Hospice, especially to Nurse Nat. We sought the support of Orange Hospice during the most difficult transition of our lives: discontinuing chemotherapy for our mother who was battling aggressive stomach cancer. We were facing a very rapid decline in her health, and the urgency of our situation required immediate action. Orange Hospice was highly recommended to us via City Of Hope, and crucially, they offered the Korean language support that was essential for my father. The speed and professionalism of the Orange Hospice team were astonishing. From the moment we made the call, they mobilized instantly. Within hours, they had successfully orchestrated the delivery of a hospital bed, oxygen equipment, and essential medical supplies directly to our home, ensuring Mom had everything necessary for comfort. The prompt delivery of medication was also seamless. Although our mother was only in their care for a few short days—less than a week—the impact they made was profound. Every member of the team treated our mother and our entire family with unwavering dignity, respect, and kindness. They served as a constant lifeline, patiently answering our complex questions and being available for support calls and text messages at all hours, including late nights and before dawn. We are eternally grateful for Nurse Nat. She listened intently to our concerns, ensured Mom’s comfort was the absolute priority, and—even after Mom passed away—she arrived immediately to offer an immense source of calm and consolation. The team at Orange Hospice went far beyond their professional duty. Their warmth and steadfast support helped us navigate this intensely painful and fast-moving five days with grace. We highly recommend them and will forever hold them in the highest regard.Posted on Yeri ImTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. During the most difficult time in our lives, the team at Orange Hospice provided incredible support, kindness, and professionalism. We had reached out to them as we were making the decision to discontinue our mother’s chemotherapy. Orange Hospice had come highly recommended to us and having a Korean speaker was important for us, so we chose to entrust Orange Hospice with our mom’s care. Everything happened very quickly for us. Our mother’s condition deteriorated so quickly, but Orange Hospice was with us each step of the way. They worked at lightning speed to bring in a hospital bed, an oxygen machine, and other medical equipment and supplies that our mom might need. Medicines were delivered quickly as well. They took the time to listen to our mom’s condition and needs, were available to us around the clock, and answered phone calls and messages even during night time and early mornings. From the very beginning, they treated our mom and our entire family with dignity, patience, and compassion. They truly went above and beyond to make sure we felt informed, supported, and comforted every step of the way. We are especially grateful to Ms. Park who arranged everything for us and got us registered so quickly, and Nurse Natt who always took the time to listen, answer questions, and ensure our mom was comfortable. Our mom was under Orange Hospice’s care for not even one week. When she passed, Natt came to our house immediately, and her presence was a huge source of comfort for us. We are deeply grateful for everything Orange Hospice did for our family. We will always remember their warmth and kindness.Posted on Alexander HanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Orange Hospice took care of my dad until he passed away. Our family recently experienced the incredible support of Orange Hospice, and we couldn't be more grateful. From the very beginning, we were met with warmth, empathy, and professionalism. The entire team went above and beyond to ensure that our loved one was comfortable and cared for with the utmost dignity. The nurses and care coordinators were always attentive, answering all our questions and providing updates with kindness and patience. They made sure not only that our family member was at ease but also that we, as a family, felt supported throughout the entire process. What stood out the most was the genuine compassion of the staff. They didn't just treat it as a job; they truly cared about our loved one's comfort and our family's well-being. The level of personalized care and emotional support we received was beyond our expectations. If you're looking for a hospice service that truly cares, I highly recommend Orange Hospice. They made a difficult time so much more bearable for our family, and for that, we are deeply thankful.Posted on Michelle YeamTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
